Yesterday we decided to take Alex to the movies for the first time. And the first movie theater experience was something special, Shrek 4 in 3D. When we told him where we were going he was very excited about getting popcorn and candy so he didn’t really care about the rest. When we got there we got OK seats and there weren’t to many kids in the theater. If there is anything I can’t stand then it is screaming kids and parents that think it is OK. I think it is good manners to be able to sit and stay quiet while watching a movie but the people sitting behind us had different morals. The grownups were talking while the movie was running and the kid was screaming and (fake) laughing as loud as he possibly could. I have to add that the kid was probably 9 years old!
Alex didn’t really understand the thing with the glasses so I caught him a few times with them off, trying to watch the movie that way. But I understand his frustration because the 3D glasses we got were not made for kids. They were way too big and not sitting comfortably on the ears. Next time we will take him to a normal movie to let him experience that also.
Glenn and I were pretty hungry so we bought the biggest pop corn bowl available and OMG it was big. We didn’t really think this through. We were drowning in pop corn and not feeling too good afterward. Popcorn overdose. But it tasted soooooo gooood! We love movie popcorn so we couldn’t help it.
Alex couldn’t wait to go to daycare this morning because he wanted to ride his bike. He wanted to tell all his friends that he could ride a bike now, all by himself! So this morning I helped him to ride his bike to daycare.
But when I picked him up again in the afternoon I decided to take him to the park again so he could practice some more. The first ride ended inside a bush. So after pulling out a splinter and finding all scratches he continued to practice like nothing had happened. And if you know anything about Alex then you know how much he freaks out when he sees blood. He didn’t care (too much haha). I managed to get some of the adventure on video to share with you.
We hope you enjoy! Remember to comment!
I am such a proud momma right now. Today we decided to teach Alex to ride his bike we bought yesterday. The weather is much cooler then it has been for a few weeks so it was perfect. Not many people outside so we had enough space to run and move around.
We decided to go to the little park we have near by so Alex could practice on grass so he wouldn’t hurt himself too much. A few pushes and he was riding his bike all by himself! Of course he has to learn to break and turn and start and all that, but so far so good!!! I am so proud of him. We are taking a break now but we will go out and try again soon… if it doesn’t start to rain that is! More pictures and video will come later today.
I have been battling my addiction for 3 days now. I am fighting the nicotine devil and I am actually winning this time! It actually was a spur of the moment decision because I felt like quitting. I have been waiting for that feeling for some time now. There is no point in quitting if you don’t want to. It wasn’t a special day or time, just a quick decision to not use tobacco. For almost 5 years I have been using the Swedish mouth tobacco called “snus” and I guess I have been using maybe 10-15 bags a day.
The only time I didn’t have one under my lip was when I was eating and sleeping. Although it sometimes happened that I fell asleep with one still in my mouth. DISGUSTING to say the least. People who use “snus” know what I am talking about. For the last 3 days I have been using 3 a day and that is pretty good if I may say so. The withdrawal has been a bitch but I am getting trough it and it is getting better. I have been very irritated, restless and just generally pissed of at nothing. I warned people around me that I might become a little monster. To avoid confrontation I tried to keep out of everybody’s way as much as possible. It was a little bit difficult at home since I couldn’t “hide” anywhere. Lets hope I will never get addicted to this crap again so I won’t have to go through this one more time.
This is a short video I put together from when my dad and Ragga visited us and from one day out in the sun. The summer is finally here in Sweden and it is AWESOME. I get a chance to warm up before our trip to Spain. It will be fun to come home and show the videos from our vacation. Looking so much forward to it!!
I put together a little video of our dog Rocky. We are looking for a permanent home for him so I hope this will help. If you read this and live in Sweden please post it on your twitter/facebook or where ever you are online. Everything will help this cute dog to find a home.
Yesterday Alex came home with 38.4 in fever and it just kept rising. At most he had 39.8 and just slept through it. Today he has been throwing up and the fever is still pretty high but he is doing better. I took a short video of him and you can also see our foster dog Rocky.
On the 23. of April we got a new family member. His name is Rocky and he is a German Shepard/Labrador/Collie mix. He is only 10 months old and he will be staying with us until a new home is found for him. We are only his temporary family. He is the sweetest dog but needs to learn some commands and we started to work on that as soon as he came to us.
I will come with more updates on how Rocky is doing and how we are doing soon. I can only say that he has already affected me in a positive way. I manage to wake up at 7 in the morning and go out for a walk. Lets hope that will continue.
I haven’t written anything in some time because I don’t have much to say. The weather has been cold and crappy so it is best to hide indoors until the sun decides to warm the earth. We had some issues with our car but that is to sad to write about so I skip that part. Alex is growing up and becoming more defiant and normally says NO to everything I say. It gets on my nerves but hey, what can you do.
Today I went in for my second x-ray as a follow up to see if everything is OK. This time I decided that I wanted a copy so I did! Take a look:
I think it is awesome. Now I just need to get my fingers on my old x-ray from Iceland when I broke my collar bone. That would be totally awesome!
